Refund and Cancellation Policy

Last updated: [date you publish]

This page explains how cancelling and refunds work for Ecom Incubator, the 12-month 1-on-1 ecommerce mentorship with Nick Arora and his team. Ecom Incubator is offered by [Legal business name], trading as Ecom Tornado ("we", "us"). Please read it together with our Terms.

The short version

What you pay

Ecom Incubator has two tracks. Each runs for 12 months.

These totals are for paying in full. If you pay in instalments, the total is shown under "Instalments" below and in your written terms.

You can pay by [payment methods you accept, e.g. "bank transfer (NEFT, RTGS or IMPS) or UPI" or "UPI and cards through [payment provider name]"]. [Choose: A "We don't add any extra charge for any payment method." (recommended) / B name the method and the extra charge, e.g. "Card payments carry a [X]% charge, shown in your written terms before you pay."]

Ecom Incubator is education and mentorship. We don't promise or guarantee any income, sales or results. So refunds don't depend on how your business does. They follow the rules on this page.

Costs that aren't part of our fee

Ad spend, inventory and tools are not included in Ecom Incubator. They come from your own budget. You pay the ad platforms, suppliers and software companies directly. That money doesn't come to us, so we can't refund it. Any refund of those costs is between you and that provider, under their terms.

[Choose: A "Apart from the fee and GST above, we don't charge you anything else for Ecom Incubator." / B list every other charge you may ask a client to pay you, with the amount]

[Keep only if you or your team earn a commission or referral fee from tools or suppliers you recommend: "We may earn a referral fee if you buy some tools or services we recommend. We tell you when that's the case, and you never have to use them." Otherwise delete.]

Before you pay

We only take payment after you've applied, spoken with Nick or the team, and received your enrolment terms in writing. Those terms set out:

Please read them before you pay. If anything isn't clear, ask us at nick@ecomtornado.com. There's no obligation to join.

If your written terms and this page ever say different things, [Choose: A "whichever is better for you applies" (recommended) / B "your written enrolment terms apply". Note: with B, this public page could promise more than your terms give, which risks a misleading-advertisement complaint.].

Cancelling in the change-your-mind window

You can change your mind after paying. This is sometimes called a cooling-off period. If you cancel within [X days of your payment date, e.g. 7 or 14] [Choose: A "and before your first 1-on-1 call" / B "even if you've already had your first 1-on-1 call"], we refund:

[Choose: A "We don't deduct anything." (recommended) / B "We deduct payment gateway charges of up to [X]% of the amount paid." If B: put it in your written terms too, update the short version above, and keep the matching line under "If we cancel or don't deliver" (the E-Commerce Rules 2020 say you must bear similar charges when you cancel).]

You don't have to give a reason. If you pay in instalments, the window starts on the date of your first payment. [If you chose A above, keep: "We won't book your first 1-on-1 call inside this window unless you ask us to." Otherwise delete.]

Cancelling after the window

You can cancel at any time, with one email. Your cancellation date is the day we receive it. What you get back depends on the rule below.

[Choose ONE of the three rules below and delete the other two, with their headings: A "Refund for the months you haven't started" (pro-rata) / B "Partial refund up to a set point" / C "No refund after the window". A is the safest. B, and C even more, may be challenged as an unfair contract term under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, because you would keep fees for months you never deliver.]

Refund for the months you haven't started

We refund the fee for every full month left after the month you cancel in, plus the GST on it. Months are counted from your start date. If you cancel before your start date, all 12 months are left.

The sum is: fee ÷ 12 × full months left, plus 18% GST on that amount.

Example: you're on the Indian Ecom track, paid Rs 3,00,000 + GST in full, and cancel during month 4. Months 5 to 12 are left, which is 8 months. Your refund is Rs 3,00,000 ÷ 12 × 8 = Rs 2,00,000, plus Rs 36,000 GST, so Rs 2,36,000 in total.

If you've paid less than the full fee (for example, in instalments), we take the fee you've paid (not counting GST) and subtract the fee for the months used, counting the month you cancel in. We refund what's left, plus the GST on it. If that comes to zero or less, there's no refund.

This is based on time passed, not on how many calls you used. [Optional: "We deduct a one-time onboarding charge of Rs [X] + GST." Keep only if it's also in your written terms and you keep the matching line under "If we cancel or don't deliver". Otherwise delete.]

Partial refund up to a set point

If you cancel before [set point, e.g. "the end of month 2" or "your 4th 1-on-1 call"], we refund [X]% of the fee you've paid, plus the GST on that part. After that point, there's no refund.

No refund after the window

Once the change-your-mind window has ended, the fee you've paid is not refundable. You can still cancel at any time. This doesn't change what happens if we cancel or don't deliver (see below).

Pausing instead of cancelling

[Choose: A "You can pause once, for up to [X] months, by emailing us. Your 12 months are extended by the time you paused. Nothing extra is charged." / B "Pauses aren't available." / C delete this heading and section]

Instalments

[Choose: A "You can pay in [number] instalments, on the dates in your written terms. Indian Ecom: [number] × Rs [amount] + 18% GST, so Rs [total] in total including GST. US Ecom: [number] × Rs [amount] + 18% GST, so Rs [total] in total including GST." If the instalment total is higher than paying in full, add: "That's Rs [difference] more than paying in full." / B "We don't offer instalments. The fee is paid in full before you start." If B, delete the rest of this section.]

How to cancel or ask for a refund

Email nick@ecomtornado.com with:

If you can, send it from the email address you enrolled with. It helps us confirm it's you. If you can't, tell us and we'll find another way to check.

[Optional: "You can also send it on WhatsApp to [number]." Delete if you only accept email.]

That one message is enough. We won't make you join a call, fill in a long form or talk to a "retention" team before we accept it. If you'd like to talk it through first, just say so.

We confirm we've received it within [X working days, e.g. 2]. Within [X working days of receiving it, e.g. 5], we tell you in writing how much you'll get back and how we worked it out. If you think the amount is wrong, reply and we'll look again, or contact our Grievance Officer (below).

We use the details you send only to handle your request and to keep the records tax law requires. Our Privacy Policy explains more.
